Stretching is very important for our bodies.
The benefits of stretching include:
-Increasing blood flow to the muscle - this will increase nutrient levels available and therefore decrease muscle soreness which increases the muscles out put during exercise. An increase in blood flow also helps to promote cell growth and good organ function.
-Helps to reduce the effects of bad posture - By stretching our tight muscles our postures from everyday activities have less effect on our bodies over time than for someone that doesn't stretch.
- You will be able to get the most out of your body - Stretching out our muscles allows them to be able to work to their fullest potential when contracting. A tight muscle cannot contract as well this is why we fatigue so quickly during exercise if we are tight.
- improves recovery - By stretching before and after exercise it gives the muscles time to relax increasing blood flow to repair and re-oxygenize.
